Setting Appropriate Margins
Margins are the negative space between the main content and the edge of the page or screen. They frame the design and prevent content from looking cutoff.
Margins are the safety zones around the edge of your design. In print, they ensure text doesn't get chopped off by the guillotine. On the web, they keep text from hitting the edge of your phone screen, which makes reading uncomfortable.
Consistent margins act like a frame. They contain the content and make the layout feel stable. Wide margins generally feel luxurious (like a novel), while narrow margins feel data-heavy (like a dashboard).
